They don't have any impact on gameplay or the story of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, but they can help decorate Shepard's cabin and commemorate the battles the Commander has fought and the places they have visited. Model Ships are available to collect in Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3. Across Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Shepard can become something of a collector and can find or purchase Model Ships for the display case in their cabin aboard the Normandy.
